| Formation of the League | All evidence produced from research and enquiries has revealed that organised football has been played in this area since 1871, and early articles in the Preston Herald indicate that a Preston & District Football League was in existance in 1891, and allowing for a break in the football during the war years, organised football has been played under the banner of the Preston & District Fopotball League for nearly 120 years.
The League was formerly accepted into the Lancashire Football Association on the 29th September 1904.
