PRESTON & DISTRICT FOOTBALL LEAGUE
It is with sadness that the League has learned of the death of Don Hand, club secretary of Hesketh Bank Football Club, a former club of many years within this League.
Don was a fine administrator for the club and League. Don took on board the secretary’s role in season 1994/95.and was a tireless worker for Hesketh Bank FC for over 30 years. He was well respected and admired for the tremendous amount of time and work that carried out for the club, and we pass on our condolences to his family and to the club.
Clubs were asked to observe a minute's silence before their games on Friday and over the week end in Don's memory.

The Guildhall Cup Final was played between Ainsdale United and Tarleton Corinthians on Friday 1st May 2009 at the County Ground , Leyland. The outcome was a win for Tarleton Corinthians 2-0.

The William Shakespeare Memorial Trophy was played between AFC Mawdesley and Preston GSA Res. The outcome was a win for AFC Mawdesley 1-0
