The match between Southport Amatuers and Preston Wanderers was played out at Ashton Athletic on wednesday 15th february.

The game saw Wanderers take a deserved lead with a superb strike from Houghton inside the first twenty minutes and they held this lead at half time.

The second half saw Amatuers have more of the play and equalised within minutes of the kick off with a good strike from Alty. The game then settled and no more goals were scored taking the game into penalties. The shooting was poor and the game was decided on the last penalty from Amateurs who hit the ball over the bar.

Preston Wanderers went through on a 3-2 shoot out.

They meet the winners of the other semi final bewteen Winstanley St. Aidans of the Wigan League and Langho of the East Lancashire League. This tie to be played on March 14th at Bamber Bridge with a 7-00pm kick off

The Final will held at the County Ground on April 20th 2012, with a 7-00pm kick off
